Introduction

Welcome to my online shop, 30 Something!  I am a specialist dealer in Carlton Ware Floral Embossed and Shelley Mode & Vogue ceramics.  I hope you find my site both user friendly and an enjoyable experience.

I have been an avid collector of Art Deco ceramics for over 10 years and have now turned my passion into a business.  Having personally experienced some disappointments  when buying items online, I am committed to giving you, the customer, confidence by providing good quality items with a fair and honest description at reasonable prices. As a collector I understand your requirements and ultimately preserving my reputation is your guarantee.

Feedback

I am committed to continually improving my site and  would welcome your feedback on any improvemments that could be made or if you have any general observations.  Please email me at ask30something@aol.com.

Item Descriptions

I have exacting standards and as such will only sell genuine original items that I would be delighted to display in my own home.

All ceramic items are carefully checked for damage, wear, staining and restoration, including a UV light check.  Please note that I do not sell restored ceramics and will always mention any minor imperfections or defects in the item description. Most Carlton Ware items will have age related crazing and as such this will not be mentioned in the individual descriptions.

Lamps are fully re-wired to conform to current safety standards for the UK.  Most lamps will have some new items such as bulb holders and shade galleries.

Given that genuine Art Deco items are in excess of 70 years old, a degree of age related wear to chrome finishes is inevitable. Any major damage such as severe scratching, pitting or large areas of loss to the finish will result in the item being re-chromed which will be confirmed as such in the item description.

Make an Offer

Some items carry a Make an Offer button. It is necessary to create an account so that if terms are agreed the item will be reserved exclusively for you, pending completion of the transaction.  I am happy to consider reasonable offers in Pounds Sterling.

Here is the boring stuff, however please take a few minutes to read my terms and conditions of business.  Thank you.

Payment

I accept all major Debit & Credit Cards via Paypal and do not charge extra for this service.  Paypal is a secure site offering protection against misuse of your Credit or Debit Card and personal information.  Funds should be remitted in Pounds Sterling to keep my costs down. UK customers have the option of paying by personal cheque - goods will be reserved for a period of 10 days to allow for receipt of your cheque and dispatched subject to clearance - a further 10 working days - sorry this is due to the clearing banks returning cheques after the stated 3-5 days clearance times.  I reserve the right to re-list items after 10 days in the event of non-payment.

Exchange Rates

The conversion prices displayed on this site, whilst updated on a regular basis, are intended only as a guide.  The prices displayed may differ from the actual amount that appears on your Bank or Credit Card Statement owing to timing differences and also different exchange rates applied by your bank or card provider

Postage

All items for customers within the UK are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery so as to provide adequate insurance cover for loss or damage.  International parcels are sent by insured Airmail, however in some instances insurance will only cover loss of the package and NOT damage to the goods.  Please email me for confirmation of level of insurance cover at ask30something@aol.com.  All items are sent sent entirely at the customer's risk as I cannot be held responsible for any damage whilst the goods are in transit.

I post items once a week on Wednesdays.  However if you have an urgent need for faster delivery please state this in the special instructions section of your order and I will do my best to accommodate.

Packaging

I pack all items professionally in new packaging with bubble wrap and eco friendly chippings, which should prevent any damage to your purchases.  In the unlikely event of damage, please retain the original packaging as this may need to be produced for any insurance claim.  Whilst I cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of items in transit I will be happy to assist with any claim, where applicable.

Import/Export Duty/Taxes

The customer has sole responsibility for any duties or taxes payable.

Returns Policy

In order that you may purchase items in complete confidence, I offer a full, no quibble, money back guarantee where items have inadvertently been mis-described.  Items should be returned within 10 working days, please email me for return postage instructions.  Following receipt of the item a refund will be issued within 10 working days including the cost of returning the item to me.

Privacy Statement

This website is fully secured against loss of your personal data including Credit or Debit Card information and complies with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1984.  Your information is held solely for the purposes of use within this website and will not be disclosed to third parties.
